How to Create a Google Chrome Theme

Ever since Google chrome was introduced on the 11^th of December 2008, it has always been my favorite browser and a lot of people already made the switch from Mozilla Firefox to chrome. There are countless add-ons for chrome which makes it more exciting and easy to use for your everyday job, from Alexa tool bar to Seo quake it helps me a lot with my blogging scheme. And you know I’m a little bit obsessed with customizing my gadgets and its apps, so I thought of creating a very good Google chrome theme for me to reflect me. There are more than a million free Google chrome themes out there for you to use so if you ever feel like creating a unique theme for your chrome to reflect your personality then here’s your perfect guide. I’m going to try to make this short and easy to use that even a 5 year old kid would be able to do it. Fortunately this guide both works on Linux, ma and windows pc and it doesn’t require coding which means you don’t have to know any language but English

First thing you should do in creating your own Google chrome theme is to actually download Google chrome itself, of course that’s if you don’t actually have it already in your pc. You can get it on the file hippo or even Google it so you can get it from the Google’s server. After downloading and installing your next task should be heading over to the chrome web store to get an extension called My
Chrome Theme,

That’s actually the extension you are going to use in creating your own chrome theme and possibly share it if you want to.

After downloading and installing the extension go over to the apps tab on your Google chrome and click on the app My Chrome Theme then a new page pops up almost instantly after which you should click on start making theme as on the screenshot below.

On the next page you have an option of either uploading a picture from your computer drive or actually snapping a new one with your webcam, well I did upload from my hard drive cause I have a much better landscape picture to use for my Google chrome theme.

Note: Please only upload images that you have the rights to use as images and themes are hosted by Google

Your chrome theme doesn’t depend on the image you choose to use alone that’ why on the next page you have an option to choose what and what color you choose to use for the header , opened tabs and some other minor stuffs. After you choose your preferred color the app would walk you through on how you can successfully install and share your new Google chrome theme that’s if you choose to share.
